Professional Registry

The Official Registry of Verified Trichology Professionals

The Trichology Professional Registry is the credential, identity, and practice-standards body maintained by Trichology.com. A practitioner listed as Verified has been independently reviewed against the standards published below — the green Verified mark is a credential attestation, not a paid placement.

Credential standards

The Registry accepts the following credentials as the basis for verification. Equivalent international qualifications are reviewed on a case-by-case basis by the standards committee.

  • Certified Trichologist — International Association of Trichologists (IAT)
  • Certified Trichologist — World Trichology Society (WTS)
  • Diploma or higher — Institute of Trichologists (UK)
  • Board-certified dermatologist (MD or DO) with documented hair and scalp practice
  • Licensed cosmetologist with a recognised trichology continuing-education credential
  • Other internationally recognised trichology certifications, reviewed individually

Verification process

  1. Credential confirmation directly with the issuing body — member-directory lookup, registry record, or written confirmation.
  2. Identity validation against the practitioner's submitted application.
  3. Practice verification: confirmation that the stated practice exists at the address provided (public records, phone confirmation).
  4. Disciplinary-action screening with the relevant licensing or professional body.
  5. Editorial review of the practitioner's bio and headshot for accuracy and professionalism.
  6. Issuance of a certificate of verification with a unique registry number (format TC-YYYY-XXXXXX).

Recognition classes

Verification is binary — a practitioner has either passed credential, identity, and practice review, or they have not. Recognition classes describe the practitioner's professional standing and visibility within the Registry; they are not ways of "buying" the Verified mark.

Public Listing

A directory entry that has not yet completed Registry verification. No Verified mark.

Verified Professional

Credential, identity, and practice verified. Eligible to display the Trichology.com Verified mark and the Registry certificate.

Premier Verified Specialist

Verified Professional with enhanced professional visibility within the Registry: featured placement, patient offers, articles, and video. Enhanced visibility never substitutes for verification — it is layered on top of it.

Annual renewal & ongoing oversight

Verification is reviewed annually. Each certificate carries an explicit expiry date and a public verification URL. Any disciplinary action, credential lapse, or material change in practice that comes to the Registry's attention triggers immediate review, and may result in suspension or revocation of the Verified mark before the next scheduled renewal.

Verification is not a medical endorsement, a guarantee of treatment outcomes, or a recommendation. Patients should always make an informed decision and consult the specialist directly.

Dispute a Registry record

If a Registry record contains incorrect information, claims credentials the practitioner does not hold, or you have evidence of misconduct, report it. Every report is reviewed by the standards team within 2 business days.
